Sometimes life gives us a second chance at love...
The last thing Sue Orso is looking for is love. It's been twelve years since she caught her cheating husband in bed with the next door neighbor and swore off men. But when she runs into Tom Alexander at their 20th high school class reunion, Sue starts to wonder if love would be better the second time around.
Tom has never forgotten Sue. She was the one girl in high school that he would have liked to have dated--but she was always taken. When he catches up with her after 20 years, his heart feels the same. Only this time, Sue's not attached.
Just when their relationship seems to be heading in the right direction, tragedy strikes and jeopardizes their future.
REVIEW: After surviving the traumatic and emotional story of Gina, I was excited to read about Sue and the sweet character, Tom. Sue is Gina's steadfast friend and Tom provided support to Gina she didn't even know about during the most difficult part of her past. Sue and Tom's story is beautiful: a mix of struggle and the development of trust and love. I was hooked by the simple and straightforward opening line, and I couldn't put it down from that point forward! The characters in this series are consistent and you learn something new about them with every new story. I can't wait for book 3 :)
REVIEW: "The second in the Yearbook Series, "Sue and Tom" will help restore the hope that love can be found again. Like her first book "Gina and Mike", Buffy Andrews pulls you into the story within the first few lines. From there I assure you, you will not be able to put it down! It deals with some very sensitive life issues such as infidelity, insecurity, jealousy, and intimacy. Be forewarned though, it is not predictable and some parts will totally surprise, if not shock you!! It will make you gasp, laugh, blush, cry and at times say "WOW" out loud! You have to read this book!!"
Can there ever be an encore to true love?
It used to be that the only woman he could think about was Camilla. When he closed his eyes it was her that he saw. But now, he saw Willow. And it scared him and made him feel guilty. And yet he couldn’t help himself, couldn’t help feeling what he was feeling…
The last thing grief-stricken widower Peter St John expects to find at the cemetery is love. But one evening, as he lays flowers on Camilla’s grave, he is drawn to the haunting melody of a solitary violin player.
And so he encounters beautiful concert violinist Willow Channing, who has her own grief to contend with.
A second, chance meeting fuels the fire. And soon Peter knows that as one song ended, another might begin.
Our lives are often connected in ways we never would have imagined...
Two babies; two very different upbringings.
First there is Sarah: raised by her loving grandmother, but neglected by her own father who views her as the instrument of her mother’s death. She will lead a hard life, searching to belong and to be loved.
Then there is Olivia, surrounded by love, nurtured and adored by her parents, a golden child with a golden future.
When Sarah’s life is cut tragically short and she is assigned to record the moments of Olivia’s life as her Moment Keeper, their lives become intertwined.
Sarah is able to overcome the heartbreak of her own lost years and Olivia is able to deal with a future that isn’t nearly as golden as what she had planned – or is it?
REVIEW: I love the concept behind Andrews' novel: That each of us has a moment keeper, a spirit responsible for keeping track of every moment in our lives, even--or perhaps, especially--those moments that seem small at the time but evolve into life-changing memories. Andrews wove this concept into a beautiful story, one that touched my heart and will stay with me forever. I recommend this book to anyone who has questioned faith and fate (so basically everyone). You will fall in love with and root for these characters.
REVIEW: I completely fell in love with the book's main characters, starting with Sarah, the Moment Keeper for Olivia. The concept of each of us having a Keeper of the moments of our lives is intriguing. Who is our Moment Keeper and why are we chosen for each other? You'll see as the story unfolds that even the Moment Keepers themselves don't quite understand why they were chosen until the exact moment they are meant to. Both Sarah and Olivia, with their differing lives, have a great deal of life insight to offer us. Their stories are intense, emotional, upsetting, and wonderful at different times. I can identify with both main characters, as well as others, such as Olivia's mom. If you are interested in a book that really makes you think about life and its many questions, you may very well adore this lovely story about Olivia and her Moment Keeper, Sarah.
REVIEW: The Moment Keeper is a story of two girls' journey into adulthood, and how the choices they make influence their lives. The book tells the story of Olivia and her moment keeper Sarah, whose own life was cut tragically short. The characters are so relatable, it's easy to recall those junctions where a decision changed your life. THe Moment Keeper is about love, loss, relationships, and how they influence our lives. Share this book with your daughter, your mother, and the other women in your life.
Gina McKenzie is a cheerleader with a super hot boyfriend who kisses like you wouldn't believe...
She's looking forward to the prom, then graduation and senior week at the shore. The only thing she isn't looking forward to is the start of college, because it means she won't be near Mike. They are attending schools on opposite sides of the state.
But Gina's normal teen life ends the night she is brutally raped by her math teacher and Mike's baseball coach. Coach Smith threatens to destroy Mike's promising baseball career if Gina tells anyone what happened. To protect Mike, Gina keeps quiet and eventually, unable to deal with the effects of the rape, breaks up with Mike.
They reconnect at their 20th high school reunion where the past catches up with them and Mike learns the truth about what happened 20 years ago.
"When I picked up Gina and Mike, read the reviews I thought to myself "oh no, another sappy story, surely the reviews were over the top and *I* was not going to go running for tissues." To my amazement, the author has taught me a lesson in humility, because by chapter 6 I was a blubbering mess and found myself wiping the tears I was bound and determined not to let fall. I give huge kudos to this author for having the courage and will to write about such a complex topic. Making the characters come to life on page and making them all relatable in some way. For making us, the reader, feel the emotions, the anger, the hurt, the loneliness of these characters was brilliant. I was in despair at one point of not knowing if these characters would find their HEA. I will leave it to the new readers to find out. Well done!I'm a paragraph. "This was an easy read, but packed with a lot of detail and emotion. I had a hard time putting it down. The alternating POV's were really well done, overlapping slightly so we could see how each of the characters thought and felt at all times. The plot is one I have been seeing a lot of lately.....girl finding love after being raped, but this book was by far the most realistic and well developed. The absolute best part was that all of the characters had NORMAL NAMES!! If you have been reading a lot of contemporary romance lately, you will know what I mean about the names! I reserve my 5 star reviews for books that leave me with serious hangovers and that feeling like I must immediately re-read them, but this one came close....4.5 stars."
"I loved this book! After tragedies and heartache, Gina and Mike try to rekindle their love after 20 years apart. The highs and lows keep you reading and anxious to see what's next. Great story!"
"Wonderfully relatable characters whose lives are forever altered by the choice of silence. A story of friendship, love and redemption, this book will grab you from the beginning and leave you wanting more. I can't wait to read more from this author!"
"Could not wait to see what happened with Gina and Mike. Enjoyed the easy flow of the story. Looking forward to the next book in this series."
